Dr Riley:
This drill is called half-kneeling lifts. This is a great drill to work on hip stability, okay, lateral hip stability. We’re also going to give ourselves some torso rotation work. Another good drill to work on rotation throughout our shoulder blades, okay? We’re in a half kneeling position. Okay. Brie has just a two-pound med ball. I don’t like to use a lot of weight here. Just we want her holding something, okay? And we’re going to start her in a little bit of a flexed position, okay? This is a great drill on extension rotation between her shoulder blades. She’s going to bring it to her chest, and we’re going to extend all the way up, okay? Back down to the chest and then all the way down, okay? I like to follow with my eyes as well. Get a big reach, okay? The whole time we’re working on this motion, if you notice, Brie’s not moving throughout her lower body, okay? We want to stay really stable in our hips, okay? Give ourselves some good hip work, also some good thoracic or mid-back extension and rotation work. This is half kneeling lifts.
