Sustainability is critical here at Tulsa Spine and Rehab. What I mean is we want to prevent reoccurrence. So many times throughout treatment plans, whether it’s chiropractic, physical therapy, you respond well with treatment and at the end, you’re released with nothing to do. I think it’s so important that patients are accountable. You are on board with your treatment plan. And what that means is I want to get you involved. Once we get you to that point when you start to respond, you start to feel better, you start to increase your daily activities, whatever the case may be, we want to get you doing more on your own. And so many times in the past, I’ve had patients talk about their primary care physicians. They hand them a piece of paper that’s been photocopied 80 times from the 1990s. And it’s the same bare bone type exercises. And my first question is, well, how do I know those exercises are going to be for you or for him or for whomever it may be? And I’m all about prescribed exercises that are specific to you.
So what we’ve done here in the clinic over the years, we’ve shot numerous different types of exercises. We have the technology now. So once I’m ready to prescribe those exercises to you, the patient, we’re able to email you those exercises. Your dog can’t eat your homework. You can’t lose it. And you simply go back to it whenever you need it. Because so many times we’re all about the home exercises when we’re hurting, I tell you the patient it’s so very important that you do home exercises when you feel good, because the whole point of the exercises are to prevent recurrence and keep you out of this office.
