Dr. Riley:
This drill is called Prone Line Superman, okay? This is a great drill to work on hip extension. Also that thoracic spine, we’ve spoken about this before, that area between your shoulder blades. A lot of us that sit at a desk for a long time, hunched over, good drill to get you warmed up here between your shoulder blades. What we’re going to have Brie do is she’s going to alternate arm and leg going into extension and down. Then we’re going to alternate. We used like to use this, an Airex pad, or if you could get something underneath your pelvis to give you a little bit of support, I think that’ll help you out. Nice and slow.
We want her to extend in her hip, bring that arm up and try to really feel it here in this mid-back area, okay? Where we don’t want you feeling this is in the lumbar spine, okay? If you start feeling it a lot in your low back, or even in your shoulders, let’s move on to another drill. Really focus on feeling it here, maybe in the front of your hips, okay? Great drill to work on hip extension, thoracic extension. This is Prone Superman.
