Dr. Riley:
This drill is called quad position, hip abduction, and this is a great drill to work on hip mobility and stability. Okay, we’re going to have Brie get into a quad, or an all-four position, okay? We’re going to have her arch her back and flatten her back. We’ve done this before. What we’re trying to do is finding a neutral pelvis, neutral spine. We’re going to maintain that throughout the drill, okay? She’s going to bring her left leg straight out, okay, and then back in.
Okay. Two things I want to focus on here is, I want to stay stable on this right side. We want to prevent lateral shifting or movement swaying side to side, okay, and then we’re just going to open up that hip as much as we can, okay? We’re working on stability on this other side, but we’re also starting to work on some mobility and stability on this left side as well. This is a great drill to increase hip stability and mobility. This is quad position, hip abduction.
