This is a great drill to increase thoracic extension, that area mid-back, right between your shoulder blades, okay? So, we’re going to be lying down right on the foam roll. Her head’s going to be supported. She’s going to open up her arms exposing her chest a little bit. She’s stable down here, okay? Neutral spine. What we’re going to have her do is bring her elbows as down as far as she can, okay? Palms and forearms are pointed up towards the ceiling, and then she’s going to work back up towards her head, just like you were lying down doing a snow angel in the snow, okay? Back and forth all the way down.
Ideally, where we would like to feel this is right in that mid-back area, right between your shoulder blades, okay? That’s the thoracic spine. We’re going to go back and forth nice and easy, okay?
